Driver dead after crash on Route 20 in Wilbraham

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – One person has died after a crash on Route 20 in Wilbraham Wednesday night.

According to the Wilbraham Police Department, at approximately 8:33 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Main Street and Boston Road (Route 20) for a two-car collision.

Officers provided immediate medical aid to the injured occupants, with one driver brought to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer where they were later pronounced dead.

A portion of Route 20 was temporarily closed to allow for an investigation by the Wilbraham Police Detective Bureau, along with the Hampden DA’s Office and Mass. State Police. The roadway reopened around 1 a.m. Thursday.
