Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department receives new truck
MINERAL WELLS — The Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department has received its new fire truck and it will be put into service in a month or so. The department recently took possession of its new 2024 Pierce Enforcer truck that will become the department’s new Engine 41, replacing a 1992 Pierce engine truck that was the front line engine for the department.

Wrestling, softball state championships staying put
PARKERSBURG — The wrestling and softball state championships aren't going anywhere. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission announced Thursday that Huntington and South Charleston will continue to serve as the host cities for wrestling and softball, respectively. Bob Huggins donates $380k to Mon Health Cancer Center
MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Former WVU men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins donated $380,000 to the Mon Health Cancer Center in support of cancer care services Thursday morning. Huggins announced the donation earlier this year at the 2024 Bob Huggins Fish Fry. The money came from the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Endowment Fund that Huggins established in his mother’s name to support cancer care and research across West Virginia.
