WILKESBORO — Wilkes Community College (WCC) proudly announces the launch of two innovative programs: Electrical Systems and Heavy Equipment Operator. These programs cater to individuals keen on mastering specialized skills crucial in today's workforce.

The Electrical Systems program equips students to install and maintain electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Graduates emerge prepared for diverse roles in the electrical field, from apprenticeships aiding in system layout to full-fledged technicians managing installations and upkeep.

The Heavy Equipment Operator program teaches students how to proficiently operate a variety of heavy machinery, including dozers, loaders, scrapers, and graders. Students also gain expertise in equipment maintenance and systems management. The training prepares students for employment with governmental bodies and private contractors involved in construction and infrastructure projects.

To learn more about these programs and explore other career opportunities, join us for an open house hosted by WCC's Applied Career Technology division. The event takes place on Tuesday, July 30, from 4-6 p.m. on WCC’s main campus in Daniel Hall, 227 First Citizens Bank Lane, Wilkesboro. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in giveaways for door prizes, receive program information, and cool swag. For further details, please contact Kristy Caldwell at (336) 838-6218.
