Momence woman dies in Will County accident
SHOREWOOD — A 44-year-old Momence woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday accident on Interstate 80, west of Interstate 55, near Shorewood in Will County. Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers identified Jeanna St. Peter, of Momence, as the victim.

Joliet Area Historical Museum: The Joliet Area Historical Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers participants the opportunity to learn about Joliet’s heritage and history. The museum has exhibits ranging from the early days of Native American settlers to the industrialization that shaped Joliet into what it is today. There are a variety of transportation, industrial and cultural artifacts for participants to view. General admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and full-time students, $5 for youth ages 4 to 17 and free for museum members and children 3 and younger. The museum is also hosting a 2024 Rooftop Music Series. The series began May 10 and will end Sept. 14. At these shows, a full beverage bar is available, as well as a snack vendor and more. State police investigate fatal accident on I-80 in Will County
SHOREWOOD — Illinois State Police were investigating a fatal accident that occurred Friday morning on Interstate 80, west of Interstate 55, near Shorewood in Will County. At 7:02 a.m., ISP Troop 3 was called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of I-80, ISP said in a release.
Will County Coroner Identifies Man Found Dead In Pump House
At 6:47 on Tuesday night, Joliet police and the Joliet Fire Department responded to the US Steel property at 941 Collins Street for a report of a body found. Police entered a pump house which had flooded with water and located a deceased adult male floating in approximately four to five feet of water. It appeared the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Lawsuit Against Aqua to be Resolved
A five-year-old lawsuit against Aqua Illinois has been resolved. Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, but sources said Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow, and the Village of University Park have reached an agreement in court and are working to memorialize it into a consent judgment.
