Free pet adoptions through July 21 at AAWL
Now through Sunday, July 21, families in the Valley can adopt a furry friend at no cost at the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL). Monsoon winds toppled 27 power poles in northeast Phoenix, repairs planned for Tuesday
Thousands of residents lost power Sunday night after severe monsoon winds knocked down 27 power poles in northeast Phoenix, Arizona Public Service announced. At the height of the storm, around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, approximately 3,000 customers were without power, APS spokesperson Yessica del Rincon said. Backup supply units build into the power grid helped APS crews restore power to everyone in 2.5 hours, APS said.
