A Williamsburg high school student just released his second book and he's on a local book tour to encourage more young people to write.
One of the stops on author Geremiah Delvalle’s book tour is at the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach. His latest book is called 'Land of Scientia.'

“The real science and the facts are intertwined into my story, so now I’m entertaining and educating my readers at the same time,” said Geremiah.
It’s about three friends who are transported to an island where animals teach them how to fight off villains all while learning about conservation.
“I base all the villains off of real issues that animals face,” he said. "Like poaching or overpopulation, climate change and stuff like that.”

Delvalle's mom, Kenya, says the 16-year-old has always loved to read and says it's fitting that science was the theme for his book.
“Science was one that always intrigued him. He would always research and delved more into that subject,” said Kenya.
Delvalle's father, Gerron, is a writer and filmmaker. Gerron has written three novels and several poetry books and is not surprised his son's already a published author.

“He basically started to write stories and create stories at a very young age. I remember he was 5 or 4 playing with his cars and creating characters,” said Gerron.
Now that he's a little older, there is purpose behind his writing.
“I’m really out here trying to promote literacy to children and people my age so they can get started into reading,” said Geremiah.
