Lawmakers say two recently passed bills save motorists time, enhance convenience
(The Center Square) – The Illinois legislature voted to provide motorists an option at the DMV of a four-year or eight-year driver’s license. They also approved the option of having a digital driver's license. State Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport, who supported Senate Bill 275, said the eight-year license is double the cost, but the time savings and convenience will be attractive to many motorists. Kewanee police blotter for July 15
Elise L. Lorang-Louis Holms, 29, Kewanee, was arrested for a Grundy County warrant for failure to appear for driving with a suspended license following a report to check business in the 200 block of West Third Street. She was given a notice to appear. Charles L. Holms, 30, Kewanee, was arrested for a Henry County warrant for failure to appear for aggravated domestic battery and resisting. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa (FOX 9) - A storm sent debris flying into traffic in Windsor Heights, Iowa, on Monday as a tornado moved through the region. Kevin Grimes captured video on his dashcam of the scene while he drove through the storm. Footage of the chaos shows downed trees, damaged street signs, power flashes and captured the sound of tornado sirens.
Superintendent defends purchase of GJHS attendance system

That’s according to Galesburg School District Superintendent John Asplund, in defending the district’s move to purchase a new $90,000 system that will require Galesburg High School students to scan their once-again-require-to-wear student I.D.’s at a kiosk when they enter a classroom.
NWS confirms Monday night storm in Morton was a tornado
The tornado began in East Peoria near Bloomington Road and Pleasant Hill Road. It traveled along Interstate 74 to the northside of Morton where an industrial building was damaged. The tornado moved to the east side of Morton snapping several trees near the high school then it proceeded into rural Tazewell County and caused damage to the American Legion post northeast of Mackinaw before lifting. The twister was rated as an EF-1 with 95 mile per hour winds.
