The National Weather Service (NWS) Central Illinois office reported the tornado began in East Peoria, tracked through northern parts of Morton, and lifted north of Mackinaw. 67 Chargers Earn Academic All-Region 4 for Spring Semester
Sixty-seven Sandburg student-athletes earned Academic All-NJCAA Region 4 honors for the 2024 spring semester. Honorees had to achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours to earn the distinction. Among Sandburg’s recipients, 44 had a GPA of 3.50 or better. Nineteen Chargers had a perfect 4.0 GPA, and each Sandburg team was represented within that group of student-athletes with an unblemished GPA.

KNOX Co., Ill. (KWQC) - The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the publics’ help in locating a missing adult. Shannon L. Edwards, 39, of Galesburg has been reported missing, according to a media release from the sheriff’s office. Edwards was last seen near the Public Safety Building in Galesburg on July 1. ILLINOIS, USA — Nearly 150 more high-risk zip codes have been added to the Illinois Department of Public Health's lead testing list. IDPH keeps track of zip codes throughout the state where residents are at a higher risk of lead exposure. On July 1, 148 new zip codes, representing 60 Illinois counties, were added to the list.
