Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program application date extended
In January Governor Josh Shapiro announced the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, or PTRR for short. With the program, hundreds of thousands of older and disabled Pennsylvanians will now be eligible for a rebate up to $1,000. This brings the maximum standard rebate up from its previous level of $650. Application window opens soon for new Cumberland County affordable housing community
A little over a year ago, a Cumberland County nonprofit broke ground on an $18.1 million affordable housing project. Carlisle-based Safe Harbour broke ground on Harbour Village in 2024 on five acres of vacant land in South Middleton Township, bordering the borough of Carlisle near the Carlisle United Methodist Church on South Spring Garden Street. Harbour Village will include six residential buildings with 40 units and a community building on Harbour Village Drive.
