    July 08

    Art Camp set

    WILLIAMSTON — The Martin County 4-H will be hosting an art camp on Monday, July 8.

    The cloverbud session for ages 5-7 will be from 10 a.m. — 12 noon. The junior session for ages 8 — 12 will be from 2 — 4 p.m.

    Registration is required. Contact the Extension office at 252-789-4370 to reserve your child’s spot. The cost is $10.

    The Camp will be held at the Extension Office at 104 Kehukee Park Rd. in Williamston.

    Imagination Begins

    WILLIAMSTON — The Martin Memorial Library will be hosting imagination begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10.

    Children along with their parents or caregivers are invited to attend the outdoor program presented by Terrill Bell.

    Dance set

    WASHINGTON — The Washington Civic Center will be hosting a dance at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.

    The dance is from 6:30 — 9:30 p.m. and admission is $10.

    Teen Chef Camp planned

    WILLIAMSTON — The Martin County 4-H will be hosting a teen chef camp from 2 — 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.

    This camp is for children ages 12 — 18. Call 252-789-4370 to register.

    WILLIAMSTON — The Martin Memorial Library will be hosting Pamlico Jo and Cleanwater Flo at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

    Community Book Club meets

    WILLIAMSTON — The community book club will meet at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17 at the Martin Community College Library.

    The discussion will be about Born a Crime by Trevor Noah.

    Sewing 101

    WILLIAMSTON — The Martin County 4-H will be hosting sewing 101 from 9 a.m. — 12 noon on Thursday, July 18.

    Family and Friends Weekend planned

    WILLIAMSTON — New Life Ministries will be hosting family and friends weekend beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Gaylord Perry Park.

    There will be games, food, prizes as well as a backpack giveaway.

    MARTIN COUNTY — Martin County transit will be providing free rides for persons living in Martin County.

    This is while funding lasts. Anyone can ride.

    Be a Voice for a Child

    WILLIAMSTON — Become a Guardian ad Litem Program volunteer to help abused and neglected children.

    No specific education or experience is required to volunteer for this program; only a true desire to “be a voice for a child in the community”.

    WILLIAMSTON — Martin County Shrinettes Club holds its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month.

    Shrinettes are the wives, mothers, widows, sisters, daughters or stepdaughters of a Shriner, who are 18 years or older.

    Any advancement of the club is welcome. Come join the fun and fellowship.

    Skill Building Sessions

    ROBERSONVILLE — Robersonville Public Library is offering 30-minute, one-on-one sessions with library staff providing customized help and skill building to members of the community, free of charge.

    Examples include learning to navigate the library, building computer skills, research and more.

    These sessions must be scheduled in advance by calling 252-508-0342.

    Classes

    High School Equivalency classes are available both day and night in Williamston, Robersonville and Windsor.

    Funds are available to assist qualified students with the $80 fee for taking the high school equivalency tests (formerly GEDs). All basic skills classes are free.
