KSP crime report shows significant increase in human trafficking crimes
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - KSP’s newly released ‘Crime in Kentucky’ report covers a wide range of serious crimes committed across the commonwealth. While human trafficking crimes make up a small percentage of overall offenses in Kentucky (0.03%), they’ve made the biggest jump, percentagewise. The report shows a nearly 40 percent rise from 2022 to 2023.

NEWPORT, Ky. — A portion of the Ohio River will be closed to boaters during Newport's fireworks display. Boone County Water Rescue officials said due to the Newport Blast Fireworks and Drone Display taking place on the Ohio River in Newport, a U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Command will be established between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.
