A UPS driver from Harrisburg, identified as Richard Moore, 60, faces allegations of improperly disposing of packages meant for delivery. According to the Silver Spring Township Police, Moore was caught on surveillance video on July 9, throwing six unopened packages into a dumpster. The incident occurred at the premises of a company located along State Road, distinct from the intended recipient’s address.

A push to ban smoking inside Pennsylvania casinos is underway in Harrisburg. Democrat State Representative Dan Frankel joined some Pittsburgh casino workers for a rally on the North Shore yesterday as they advocate in favor of an amendment to the state’s Clean Indoor Air Act to end tobacco use at their jobs. Frankel is a co-sponsor of the amendment, saying it is meant to close loopholes in the 2008 law. Maryland man sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for Franklin County triple-homicide
HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Maryland man has been sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for his role in the June 25, 2016 murder of three people in Franklin County. The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Christopher Van Johnson, 36, from Baltimore, Maryland was sentenced on July 17. His sentence was imposed by United States District Court Judge Christopher C. Conner, who also sentenced Johnson to concurrent 10, 20 and 30-year prison terms on companion robbery, firearms and conspiracy charges.
