Record “On This Day” Temperatures Broken From Illinois Heat Wave
Let's face it. It was stinking hot yesterday. Thanks to all of that corn sweat and hot temperatures in the area, we've been dealing with a heat wave to kick off the week. Although we didn't break the record for the hottest recorded temperature in the Quad Cities, we did break a daily record during Tuesday's Excessive Heat Warning. We also broke a record overnight, too.

A Springfield psychiatrist who has twice examined Benjamin Howard Reed, a Thayer man charged with stabbing and bludgeoning of child protective services worker Deidre (Graham) Silas in 2022, said in Sangamon County court Wednesday that there didn't appear to be any doubt that Reed suffered from "substantial disorder of thought, mood and behavior."
