Elle St. Pierre gets surprise sendoff on her way to 2024 Olympics
RICHFORD, Vt. — After an impressive showing at the Olympic Trials in Oregon last month, Elle St. Pierre is ready for Paris. The Richford High School native departed from her family farm around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and to her surprise, locals from the community gathered south of the Canadian border to send her off before her flight from Montreal to Paris.

Cab of fuel tanker catches fire in Winhall
WINHALL, Vt. (WCAX) - Authorities say the cab of a tanker hauling gasoline burst into flames Friday morning in Winhall. It happened around 9:45 a.m. on Route 11 near the Bromley Ski Area. Fire officials say the driver saw smoke and pulled over. They say no one was hurt and that the fire did not spread to the 8,000-gallon tanker.
