Russian River Campground closes Aug. 15
The Russian River Campground, one of the most popular recreation areas in Alaska, will close at midnight on Thursday, Aug. 15, and not reopen until, perhaps, December. Sitka Food Co-op has been approved to accept and redeem the State of Alaska’s Supplemental Assistance Nutritional Assistance Program (known as “SNAP”). Per USDA.gov, Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. When a participant shops at a SNAP authorized retail store, their SNAP EBT account is debited to reimburse the store for food that was purchased.
