The Jubilee Jog on Memorial Day at St. Joseph’s has become a North Shore sports institution.

An overcast sky and temperatures in the low 60s made for ideal running conditions for the 30th annual 5K run and walk under the auspices of St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier parishes, and William Hague, of Winnetka, responded by crossing the finish line in 14 minutes 53 seconds, fastest time in the history of the race.

Competing in the age 30-39 division, Hague ran at a 4:49 pace.

Finishing second was last year’s winner, Daniel Lennington, a Wilmette runner in the age 40-49 division, who was clocked in 16:43 during the race that began on Ridge Road north of St. Joseph’s Church and ended in the church parking lot.

The female champion with a time of 19:51 was Sloan Trapp, a Butler University lacrosse player from Wilmette, racing in the 20-29 age group.

Placing second in 20:28 was Debbie Ackerman, of Wilmette, an accomplished runner in the age 50-59 division.

The youth champions, both of whom were in the 10-14 age group, were Simone Montgomery in the girls competition with a time of 24:21 and Tim Vaughn in the boys competition with a time of 17:18.
