A big bounce – THE big bounce – is coming to the First State.

The Big Bounce America , home to the World’s Largest Bounce House makes its way to Wilmington from Friday, July 5th through Sunday, July 7th.

The newly expanded 24,000 square-foot World’s Largest Bounce House will be at Kirkwood Sports at 1220 River Road.

“This is one of those events where children and parents can play together,” said Nida Hussain, a tour manager for the company. “Siblings of all ages can play together, and it’s one of those things where in the summer, you get to just kick off your sneakers and jump around.”

In addition to the record-holding inflatable, the Big Bounce is bringing a brand-new deep sea foam party inflatable OctoBlast, as well as a 900-plus-foot-long obstacle course called The Giant, a customized sports arena called Sport Slam and a three-piece, space-themed Wonderland called airSPACE.

The OctoBlast features a deep-sea world filled with colorful ocean creatures, colossal foam cannons and live DJs spinning the best tracks from a huge pufferfish stage, all while guests dance around the giant Octopus tentacles.

The Sport Slam is filled with goals, nets, hoops and balls of every size and type, and patrons can race up a climbing tower or compete in a ‘battle zone’ to see who can stay on their podium the longest.

The Giant contains 50 different obstacles to overcome on the way to the monster slide at the end, and airSPACE is full of friendly aliens, spaceships, moon craters, a huge 5-lane slide, a 25-foot-tall inflatable alien at the center of three bottomless ball pits and a giant spaceman jumping around the moon base.

The Big Bounce travels to at least 500 cities a year, spread throughout the U.S., Canada and sometimes Australia.

There’s usually about 1,300 people per session that come to the event – each session is three hours and there’s up to four sessions a day.

“It’s just like one of those things where it comes once a year in your city,” Hussain said. “It’s not something that’s going to be available to you at any point, like an arcade or anything like that, and that’s what really makes it stand out.”

Tickets range from $22 to $48. Purchase them here .
