    Canal forces the If game against Naamans in District 2 Majors Championship

    Canal was able to force the If game against Naamans in District 2 Majors Championship Wednesday night at Naamans Little League field. Canal previously lost to Naamans 6-4, but made it way through the losers bracket to face Naamans in the championship. Canal, having previously lost to Naamans, was facing elimination in the game since the tournament is double elimination.

    Canal facing elimination kept their hopes alive with a win over Naamans. Canal jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when Hunter Pettit signled up the middle to score two runs. They then added to their lead in the top of the bottom of the third inning scoring five more runs. Canal took advantage of a few Naamans errors, but the inning was highlighted by an Owen Fresconi single that scored two runs.

    Naamans answered with two runs in the top of the fourth. Brayden F got the inning started with a leadoff double followed by singles from Anthony Catalina, Nathan Cruser and Troy Kwoka. But that was all they runs they got as Canal’s starting pitcher Anthony Ignudo settled back down.

    Ignudo threw a complete game allowing 8 hits 2 earned runs and struck out 4 batters. Ignudo also helped at the plate going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Ethan T also went 2-3 with two runs scored.

    Brody B led the way for Naamans going 2-3 at the plate. Catalina, Cruser and Kowka each had a hit.

    Tonight the two teams face off again for a winner take all to advance to the Majors division state championship next week at MOT Little League. The game is at Naamans Little League set to start at 6:30pm.  If you cant make it we will be there LIVE on our Youtube channel. LINK
