    TGIF, Small Wonder!

How are you all on this fair Friday?

After a relentless heatwave, we are finally getting slightly cooler temperatures. Today’s high in the Wilmington area is expected to be 86 with sunny skies – not cool, but better than earlier this week and less humid!

Phillies play the Pirates at tonight 6:40 p.m.

The Delaware State Fair is underway, and if you and your family plan to hit the midway, we want you to be armed with all the info you need to have maximum fun. Be sure to keep checking back for updates, full coverage, including ride inspection info, and plenty of photos from the fairgrounds.

Speaking of entertainment, I want to put out my personal recommendation of Christone “Kingfish’’ Ingram, the young blues master performing this fall at The Queen. For ticket info, check out Andre Lamar’s story here and see a photo gallery of Kingfish in action. I’ve been fortunate enough to see him live twice and he is amazing.

And now more local news …

Families will 'never get over the loss' of Cape Henlopen High students killed in crash

The two victims of a fatal car crash in Lewes on Monday night have been identified by their parents as 16-year-old Ryan Andrew and 15-year-old Elijah Ghabour, both Cape Henlopen High School students, reports Shannon Marvel McNaught.

The boys were in a BMW 328 traveling "at an apparent high rate of speed" and approaching a sharp curve on Gills Neck Road, when, "for reasons under investigation," the car exited the road, Delaware State Police said in a news release. The vehicle struck a pillar, a tree and a metal fence and became engulfed in fire, the flames of which spread to a nearby home, police said.
