DEWEY BEACH — Police reported a blue 2020 Hyundai Sonata crossing the fog line on Coastal Hwy. at 11:30 p.m. July 19, initiating a traffic stop which led to multiple charges being filed.

Ramone Shy, 36, of Wilmington initially attempted to flee, but was caught. Dewey Beach Police then searched the vehicle and discovered what they believe to be burglary tools. Mr. Shy was charged with felony possession of burglar tools, four misdemeanors and a seat belt violation.

Mr. Shy was not charged with anything relating to crossing the fog line, nor drug charges though it was noted the officers detected an odor they identified as marijuana.

Mr. Shy was arraigned and placed in Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of a bond in excess of $14,000.
