    Hey, there, Delaware!

Good morning to you. It’s Throwback Thursday … so here is a look back at the historic Hotel du Pont.

I realize summer is not over for a while yet, but nothing can stop this … Spirit Halloween stores in Delaware open in August for early costumes.

Did you miss the Northern Lights earlier this year? Northern lights may be more widely visible in coming days. Will Delawareans see them?

Do you know someone who made a difference to someone when they really needed it? Is there a Good Samaritan you’d like to see highlighted, someone who offered a kindness, that made a difference for you, or made someone's life a little better in Delaware?

Our new Random Acts of Kindness feature aims to share these stories. If you know someone deserving of a story, email Krys'tal Griffin at kgriffin@delawareonline with as much information as you can provide.

A federal judge has ordered a discrimination lawsuit against Wilmington to move forward, setting the stage for attorneys to debate whether the City Council’s chief of staff position is exempt from the federal Age Discrimination in Employment Act, reports Amanda Fries.

“Former Wilmington City Councilperson Michael Brown sued the city last year after he was denied the council’s chief of staff position twice amid the legislative body’s struggles to agree on a candidate.

“In the suit, Brown – a 67-year-old Bear resident who is running for New Castle County Council against incumbent Councilperson George Smiley – claimed he was discriminated against because of his age. ‘’
