    Oscar Mayer Weinermobile is in Wilmington. Here's where you can see it.

    The iconic Oscar Mayer Weinermobile will be in the Wilmington area this week.

    Between July 8-14, the vehicle is making its rounds throughout the Port City. Cooper Albert, driver of the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile, will bring the hotdog on wheels to three different locations in the coming days.

    If you're looking for a chance to snap a quick picture or take a closer look at this quirky vehicle, here's where you can spot it in the area.

    Where will the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile be in Wilmington this week?

    The Weinermobile will make the following stops in Wilmington before the end of the week:

    • Friday, July 12: Publix at Ogden Marketplace, 7144 Market St., Wilmington. Between 3-7 p.m.
    • Saturday, July 13: Wilmington KOA Holiday, 7415 Market St., Wilmington. Between 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
    • Sunday, July 14: The Children's Museum of Wilmington, 116 Orange St., Wilmington. Between 1-5 p.m.

    How many Oscar Mayer Weinermobiles are there?

    A total of six Oscar Mayer Weinermobiles travel around the country all year long. A select crew of 12 hotdoggers are chosen to drive the vehicles cross-country each year.

    Oscar Mayer recruits graduating college seniors "who have an appetite for adventure and are willing to see the country through the windshield of the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile," according to the application . Preferably, applicants have a degree in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, or marketing as hotdoggers become brand ambassadors on their travels.

    When was the first Oscar Mayer Weinermobile invented?

    The idea for the first Oscar Mayer Weinermobile was born in 1936 by Carl Mayer, nephew of the company's founder. Over the years, the design transformed from a 13-foot vehicle to a 27-foot-long hotdog on wheels. Updates to the initial design modernized the vehicle over time.

    Do the hotdoggers sleep in the Weinermobile?

    While the vehicle is equipped with six ketchup and mustard-colored seats, a big screen TV, and a hotdog shaped dashboard, the vehicle is not equipped with a bed or bathroom.
