Two restaurants in downtown Wilmington are closed after a fire broke out Tuesday inside the building.

According to a post on the Wilmington Fire Department's Facebook page, crews were called to a downtown business on South Front Street around 11:15 a.m.

"Upon arrival, crews found that the fire had been contained by the sprinkler system," the post states.

The fire department also noted there were no injuries, and crews were working to clear the smoke from the building.

YoSake and The Husk are both located in the Roudabush Building at 31 S. Front St. According to a post on YoSake’s Facebook page, the fire broke out on the second story of the Roudabush Building, forcing both YoSake and The Husk to close.

“Thankfully, all of our staff who were in the building were able to get out safely,” the post states. “We are now surveying the damage from the fire, smoke, and sprinkler system.”

The post does not say when the restaurants will reopen: "We are thankful for everyone who has already been a part of trying to get us back on our feet, and we will keep everyone posted as we move forward from this. We hope to see you soon."

The historic Roudabush building was formerly a seed store at the corner of Front and Dock streets in downtown Wilmington. After undergoing renovations, YoSake Downtown Sushi Lounge, an Asian fusion restaurant, opened in 2006. The lower floor became The Husk bar in 2011. The third floor of the building has been a restaurant and event space over the years.

Earlier this year, the original owners of the restaurants sold to new owners, which includes adding a new concept to the third floor.
