RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Pactola Reservoir is a popular location for swimming and recreation, it is also home to the Black Hills’ version of Atlantis. An old illegal gold mining town, called Crook City, was once located where the Pactola Reservoir is now located. After kicking out the illegal gold miners, the town brought stores, post offices, and homes to the area.

BARKSDALE AFB, La. – Multiple crew failures, severe winter weather, and wind shear led to the fiery January crash of a B-1 bomber at Ellsworth AFB on January 4, 2024 according to a report released Thursday by Air Force Global Strike Command.
