FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Craig Tigges has joined Razorback Athletics as a senior associate athletics director and chief financial officer, vice chancellor and director of athletics Hunter Yurachek announced on Friday. Hope City Board Holds Special Meeting to Pass Ordinance to Buy Hospital
The Hope City Board had a special meeting Thursday (8-8) to pass an ordinance committing the Board to purchasing the hospital land and facilities. This was needed for bankruptcy court next Tuesday (8-13). The resolution previously passed simply expressed intent to purchase. Wreck on Columbia County 61 takes one life, four others injured
One youth was killed and four other people were injured about 8:14 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 in a single-vehicle wreck on Columbia County Road 61 east of Magnolia. Preliminary Arkansas State Police reports do not identify minors who are killed or injured in vehicle accidents. However, other sources identified the passenger who was killed as Charles “Dooney” Jones Jr., 17.
Kiwanis Pulled Pork Dinner Big Success at Watermelon Festival
The Hope Kiwanis Club has prepared a special meal on Thursdays at the Watermelon Festival for many years; however, this year the club tried something different and it appeared to be a big success. The club served a pulled pork dinner at the Fair Park Community Center and the reports from those eating were popular. Customers were waiting for the club to begin selling dinners when they opened at 4:30pm. Dinners were served in the community center and “to go” orders were also available. The club has been selling smoked pork butts around Thanksgiving for the past couple of years and they have become experts in preparing the delectable smoked meat.
