10-year-old Boy Dies in Crash on Old Hickory Lake

A child has died following a jet ski crash on Old Hickory Lake on Tuesday, WSMV reports.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), Wilson County deputies responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m. where they found a 10-year boy suffering from his injuries.

TWRA says the crash occurred near Creighton Lane as a 19-year-old female staff member from a nearby campground for Boy Scouts was driving a a personal watercraft (PWC) and the 10-year-old was riding as passenger. The agency says they hit another PWC, which was also occupied by a staff member from the campground and another child.

The 10-year boy was taken to Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital where he passed away from his injuries.

The 19-year-old was also seriously injured and was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center. No update on her current condition has been released.
