S.S. Water Supply implements Stage II restrictions
S.S. Water Supply Corp. has implemented Stage II drought restrictions, continuing through Oct. 31, unless otherwise advised. The restrictions were announced July 2. According to General Manager Carlos Febus, this is due to the utility “pumping way over 3 million gallons per day of water for at least three consecutive days.”

Demolition of Sutherland Springs Sanctuary halted by judge, temporary orders issued
SAN ANTONIO - The demolition of the Sutherland Springs Sanctuary has been placed on hold, as a judge has signed a temporary restraining order and injunction in the case. This announcement from the Wilson County District Court comes on the last day that worshipers would be allowed to visit the structure.

ESD 3 offers CPR training, talks Stockdale station renovations
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation — CPR — can make the difference when someone suffers from cardiac issues and is waiting for an ambulance. “It’s important for community awareness,” said Wilson County District 3 EMS Director David Rice. “[CPR] increases the survival of patients, when people can perform lifesaving measures before EMS gets there.”
ESD 3 resumes operations from Stockdale station after renovations
Wilson County Emergency Services District 3 (ESD 3) crews are now operating out of the district’s Stockdale station. This follows renovations and upgrades to the station on West Wheeler Street. ESD 3 provides emergency medical services to all of eastern Wilson County, including the cities of Stockdale and La Vernia, and the Kicaster, Sutherland Springs, and Kosciusko communities.
