Simply Natural opens its doors in Wilson

The unique Jersey cow ice cream brand Simply Natural Creamery has made its way to Wilson.

The ice cream spot opened its doors in Shoppes at Brentwood, 2801 Ward Blvd. Suite 4A, Monday morning to a line of grandparents, parents and kids on summer vacation and ready to try the new location’s sweet treats.

Just minutes after the doors opened, 7-year-old Wyatt Clodfelter was diving face first into a cotton candy ice cream cone while his sister, Charlotte, proclaimed how good her banana pudding flavor ice cream was.

“It’s delicious,” Wyatt said. “I hope we really come back a lot.”

Alan Cox, a longtime Simply Natural employee, said it’s nice to introduce the brand to a new area.

“This is the first time in a few years we’ve opened a new store, and so anytime we do that, it’s exciting,” Cox said. “Folks in Wilson have been looking forward to this for a while. It’s so cool to see the expansion across eastern North Carolina while still committing to staying local.”

Cox said his favorite flavor is “Gimme S’Mores” and encourages everyone to come out and try it.

Simply Natural is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
