Exhibit shines spotlight on NC sculptors

Thursday, July 11 was another exciting night at the Wilson Arts Center as a huge crowd showed up for the opening reception of the Group Sculpture Invitational Exhibition. The showcase features the works of local and regional artists in a wide range of styles and materials.

Artists include Tom Braswell and Jo Brown from Wilson; Greg Carter, Jane Cheer, Kelly Sheppard Murray and Polina Varlamova from Raleigh; Charlotte Fitz Daniels from Greenville; Max Dowdle from Hillsborough; and Larry Jones from Ayden.

An impressive food selection was prepared by Dee Dee Oliver and the Visual Arts Volunteer Committee. Returning bartenders Rayney Anderson and Lizzie Bryant were on hand with an assortment of soft drinks and fruit juices. The exhibit runs through Aug. 22.
