Buffalo Man Convicted of Burglary and Grand Larceny After Swift Jury Decision
(WNY News Now) – Buffalo – A Buffalo man faces up to 7 years in prison following his conviction for burglary and grand larceny after a rapid jury verdict. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that a jury has found 38-year-old Sergio J. Brooks of Buffalo guilty of one count of Burglary in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony) and one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class “E” felony). Jurors rendered their decision yesterday afternoon after less than four hours of deliberation following a one-day trial, convicting the defendant of both counts in the indictment.

Village of Akron issues water color alert
The Village of Akron is conducting routine fire flow testing today, July 19, 2024, and issued an alert this morning that the Village water may be discolored. The testing causes increased flow in the water main creating discolored water in the line. The Village is flushing at the end of the line to help eliminate the disturbed water which should bring the water back to normal within a day. The Village reports that while water may be discolored it is still safe for use.
