City of Wilsonville Public Works Complex to hold grand opening

The city of Wilsonville will hold a grand opening for its new Public Works complex Saturday, May 18.

Wilsonville’s Public Works department moved into the new facility in February , after previously sharing a building with the Wilsonville Police Department. The new, energy-efficient building offers more space for public works operations and is seismically resilient, allowing for it to remain functional in an emergency.

After seven years of planning, the city broke ground at the location in September 2022. The new complex features an administrative building, a warehouse and space for vehicles and maintenance. Until Public Works moved to the new facility, it was forced to store equipment at various locations around Wilsonville due to lack of space.

A ribbon-cutting and remarks from Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald will begin at 11 a.m. according to the city website. The building will be open for public tours until 2 p.m.

The complex is located at 28625 Southwest Boberg Road near the South Metro Area Regional Transit Operations Center.
