Hoobler and Scanlon Named Wilsonville High School Athletes of the Week for May 15

Hoobler is a junior on the Wilsonville boys’ varsity golf team, and Scalan is a freshman on the girls’ varsity track team.

Whether on the green or on the track, this week’s athletes showcase the excellence of Wildcat athletics. Junior Evan Hoobler and freshman Maisy Scanlon have been named Wilsonville High School’s Athletes of the Week for May 15th.

Hoobler, a junior on the boys’ varsity golf team, has been a leading scorer since his freshman year, consistently delivering outstanding rounds, including a round of 71 (-1) at Forest Hills this season. “[Hoobler] is a pleasure to coach,” his coach said. “[He] has always been an incredible impact player from the moment he joined Wildcat boys’ golf.”

Scanlon, a freshman on the girls’ varsity track team, punched her ticket to the 5A OSAA State Track and Field Championships in her first year of high school competition, winning both the 100m high hurdles (15.27) and 300m hurdles (45.94 - a personal record best) at the Northwest Conference District Championships. She also finished third in the high jump at 4’ 10.25” and was the anchor on the Wildcat’s 4x400m relay team that finished fourth.
