Mihalko and DeVincenzi Named Wilsonville High School Athletes of the Week for May 29

Mihalko is a junior on the Wilsonville girls’ varsity lacrosse team, and DeVincenzi is a senior on the girls’ varsity track team.

Whether on the track or the lacrosse field, this week’s athletes exemplify the athletic prowess of the Wildcats. Maddie Mihalko and Avery DeVincenzi have been named Wilsonville High School’s Athletes of the Week for May 29th.

A junior attacker on the girls’ varsity lacrosse team, Mihalko showed off her skills in the Wildcats recent battle against Oregon City, holding down the fort on attack and securing a hat-trick within the first quarter. “Not only is [Mihalko] a threat on the field, but she is an amazing teammate and is always encouraging and putting others first,” her coach said. “She brings so much joy and humor to the team, lighting up the room or field wherever she goes.”

Competing in the throwing events for the girls’ varsity track team, senior DeVincenzi had a dominant performance in the shot put at the OSAA 5A State Track & Field Championships, winning with a toss of 41’-.25” and besting the second-place finisher by nearly three feet. She also placed second in the discus with a throw of 124’-03”.
