The city of Wilsonville gave more than $30,000 to local programs and events through two annual grant programs.

According to a press release, the Community Cultural Events and Programs Grant gives up to $25,000 from the city’s general fund to support local programming. Funds are granted to local nonprofit organizations for projects, programs and events that promote arts, culture and history.

The City Council approved four allocations for the CCEP grant, which the press release said were recommended by the Wilsonville Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission. The Wilsonville Rotary Foundation received $7,000 for the 2024 Summer Concert series, local theater group Wilsonville STAGE received $4,300 for marketing and community awareness, the Charbonneau Arts Association received $3,500 to support marketing an arts & music festival and the Wilsonville Choral Arts Society received $1,000 for marketing and advertising.

The Community Opportunity Grant program also provides up to $25,000 from the city’s general fund for projects and services promoting education, diversity, arts or community involvement, according to the press release.

The Wilsonville Parks & Recreation Board allocated grant funds to three organizations. Wilsonville Little League received $10,000 to fund dugout improvements at Inza R. Wood Middle School, Wilsonville Skatepark Association received $3,000 to support Skate Jam 2024 this August and Charbonneau Country Club received $2,257 for new radios to help upgrade the community’s emergency radio network.
