Two dead after major head-on crash east of Sandy
Two people died in a three-car crash Sunday afternoon, July 21, about 10 miles east of Sandy after a teenage driver allegedly drifted into oncoming traffic. Oregon State Police responded at 1:45 p.m. to the Highway 26 crash, at milepost 32, near Cherryville. According to early investigations, a juvenile girl driving a Volkswagen Tiguan westbound entered the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck an oncoming BMW 540.
