City of Wilsonville to hold Pride Month mural reception
The city of Wilsonville will hold a reception this weekend for a pride mural painted on the Parks and Recreation building in Town Center Park. Wilsonville’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission selected artist Lauren Kyles to paint a temporary mural on the building’s windows at a meeting on April 17. Kyles said in an artist statement that the colorful painting symbolizes “growth, transformation, love, happiness and the connections that bind us together.” The event will run from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, and a Wilsonville Pride pin will be available for attendees to take. The mural will be available to view throughout the month of June, which is nationally known as Pride Month.
St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church to hold remembrance in Memorial Gardens
The St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church will soon hold its annual remembrance to honor those laid to rest in the church’s Memorial Gardens. According to a news advisory, the ashes of over 100 people rest in the gardens. During the service, led by Memorial Garden stewards and clergy members, the name of each person laid to rest in the gardens will be read, followed by the ringing of a bell. Roses will be given to family members and other participants to place on name plaques in the gardens. Participation is open to church members as well as community members who are not a part of the church. A light lunch will be available after the service. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 2.

Two Clackamas County Board of Commissioners races are headed for a runoff in the November election while two other county races were wrapped up in the May 21 primary. The Wilsonville Farmers Market is back
The Wilsonville Farmers Market has kicked off its season in a new location. Community members can now find the market in Town Center park after it was previously held in Sofia Park. The market will offer vendors, food, cocktails and live music, according to its Facebook page. It runs from 4-8 p.m. on Thursdays.
Campbell's to close Tualatin plant, lay off 120 employees in August
Campbell’s has announced it will close its Tualatin plant, eventually resulting in the loss of 330 employees, the soup giant announced on its website on Tuesday, May 28. “The site consists of multiple leased buildings of approximately 250,000 square feet.
