Lundquist Lawsuit Against Charles City School Board Headed for Trial
The lawsuit filed by former Superintendent Anne Lundquist against all five members of the Charles City School Board appears headed for trial. In April, Lundquist was placed on administrative leave while, according to School Board President David Schrodt, the district investigated allegations that raised “questions about Dr. Lundquist’s fitness for duty and ability to serve as an employee of the Charles City Community School District.”
Strawberry Point firefighters return to service under interim chief
STRAWBERRY POINT, Iowa — Firefighters in Strawberry Point will return to service Thursday evening after ongoing talks with the city. City Administrator Deno Andrews tells Iowa's News Now that the volunteers will return and serve under Interim Fire Chief Dean Courtnage. Courtnage has been with the department for 46 years, and previously served as fire chief for 10 years. He succeeds Chief Nic Stelken, who city leaders removed from his job.

Mason City woman struck by SUV and killed Wednesday
MASON CITY, Iowa – Someone was killed Wednesday evening when they were hit by an SUV in Cerro Gordo County.
