Two Arrested in Connection with Waldoboro Man’s Death
Following the discovery of a Waldoboro man’s body at a home in Cushing on Friday, July 12, two men connected to his death are in custody. Mark Gagne, 41, of Cushing, and Jason Hewett, 39, of Augusta, are being held at the Knox County Jail in Rockland on charges related to the death of Kyle MacDougall, 45, of Waldoboro.

4-year-old boy found wandering was seeking help for father, police say
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — Police responding to a report of a 4-year-old boy walking alone on Thursday, July 18, did not realize he was seeking help. When an officer of the Old Orchard Beach Police Department walked the boy a quarter-mile back to his home, he found the boy's father had suffered a medical event. Police say he was taken to Maine Medical Center and has since made a full recovery.

CARIBOU, Maine — A water and sewer parts and service company with longtime ties to Aroostook recently launched its first location there. EJ Prescott opened a new warehouse and parts center at 59 York St. in Caribou in May and celebrated with a grand opening Wednesday. Crossroads Holdings Underway on $300 Million Mixed-Use Project Near Portland, Maine
Scarborough, Maine — Developer Crossroads Holdings LLC is underway on the development of Town Center, a $300 mixed-use project located in Scarborough, roughly 10 miles southwest of Portland. Situated within The Downs — a larger, 577-acre redevelopment of a former horseracing complex — the project will include 320,000 square feet of retail space, 60,000 square feet of medical office space, 240 residential units and a boutique hotel, as well as various open green spaces. Construction began last fall. Wilder Cos. has partnered with Crossroads to manage marketing and leasing initiatives for the retail and restaurant space at the property, in collaboration with locally based brokerage firm The Boulos Co.
