Aldi targeting eight Winn Dixie stores for possible conversion in 2024
Aldi expects to convert about 50 Winn-Dixie or Harvey's Supermarket stores by the end of 2024, with plans for most reopening in 2025. In August of 2023, Aldi announced it was purchasing about 400 Winn Dixie and Harveys stores. At the time, the company said the stores will continue to operate under the Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s brands, though Aldi will "evaluate which locations will convert" to its no-frills format.
Tampa Bay wildlife rescuers searching for owl missing since Hurricane Debby
BRANDON, Fla. — A great horned owl that escaped his enclosure during Hurricane Debby is missing, as rescuers continue to look for him after nearly 10 days. The Raptor Center of Tampa Bay said their owl, which they have had since he was 6-weeks-old, is named Charlie. Staff said he is blind in one eye, doesn't know how to hunt, doesn't fly well and will not survive in the wild, according to a Facebook post.
