Last week on a drive through Wimberley, Texas State University student Connor Udemi came across one of Wimberley’s Bootiful boots lying on its side on RR12. He had just finished a training session at Muay Thai at Fighteria Academy. The storm that pelted the area with baseball-sized hail had blown the boot off of its platform and into the road. He found it lying on its side near Ozona bank. He picked up the boot, put it in his truck, covered it with a tarp and drove to his home in Dripping Springs.

“The next morning I was telling my friends about the boot and wondering who I should call,” said Udemi. “My friend’s mom told me that she knew who to contact.” It turned out that his friend’s mom was familiar with WimberleyArts. org’s Bootiful Boot program.

“So, I called Dede Taylor and she put me in contact with Lynn Jones and we arranged to meet at the Wimberley Community Center the next day,” continued Udemi.

Wimberley Arts.org communications director Dede Taylor and board member Lynn Jones soon realized that the boot belonged to the Wimberley Visitor’s Center. After getting the boot from Udemi, it was put into storage until its base could be secured.

For his quick thinking, Wimberley Arts.org Board Members gave Connor a gift card to thank him for his action, to which he replied, “I love y’all’s boots!”
