The Barnabas Connection is marking its 20-year anniversary by hosting a two-day music festival in October, headlined by Sarah Jarosz and 12 other performers.

Wimberley Music Fest 2024, October 12 through 13, will be held at the Wimberley VFW Fairgrounds. Headlining the Saturday, October 12, show is Wimberley native and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, Sarah Jarosz. Six other musical acts will perform that day including Susan Gibson, Bri Bagwell, Soma Jerome, Dallas Burrow, Dylan James Riley and Reintarnation. Gates open at 1 p.m. and performances are from 2:00 to 9:30 pm.

Sunday’s October 13 lineup features many Gospel Acts. Performing are The Cypress Creek Worship Team, Wimberley Feng Shui, Dylan James Riley, Benji Uzo, the Hill Country Honeys and Icy Monroe performing with the United Methodist and Presbyterian Church Choirs. Gates open at noon and the show starts at 1 pm and continues through 6:00 pm.

Wimberley Music Fest is a major fundraiser for Barnabas Connection, a nonprofit 501 c3 serving the Wimberley Valley.

The Barnabas Connection began in 2004 from a Wimberley United Methodist Church Sunday School Class who wanted to connect families with critical needs. That experience was the genesis of creating a stand-alone volunteer-based organization that could serve the Wimberley Valley for those in need or in crisis by providing a helping hand-up and by navigating them to services.

“During the last 20 years, Barnabas has evolved from being ‘companions in crisis’ to becoming ‘partners empowering community members’ with opportunities for growth and self-sufficiency,” said Barnabas Connection’s executive director Kate Sowell. “Barnabas Connection would like to thank the Wimberley VFW Post 6441 for hosting the festival and Sonora Bank for being the Title Sponsor.”

General admission tickets for all ages on Saturday are $40. On Sunday, general admission tickets are $15., and children 12 and under are free. Limited Box Seats and Sponsorships are available.

For tickets go to wimberleymusicfest. com where you’ll find more information about the music fest and Barnabas Connection.

All net proceeds go to fund Barnabas Connection’s work.
