Former Texas State Representative Jim Pitts Passes Away at 73
DALLAS, Texas — Former Texas State Representative Jim Pitts passed away shortly before midnight on July 20, 2024, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, surrounded by his loved ones. Jim Pitts dedicated his life to public service, representing House District 10 in the Texas House of Representatives from 1993 to 2015. His district comprised Ellis County, Hill County, and a portion of Henderson County. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of Appropriations from 2005 to 2007 and from 2009 to 2015. Representative Pitts was known for his commitment to education, fiscal responsibility, and advocating for the needs of his constituents.
