    Driver injured, dog okay after crash in Windham

    NORTH WINDHAM, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire officials say a driver and a pet were extrication from a vehicle after it crashed Friday morning.

    North Windham fire crews responded to the 140 block of Boston Post Road for report of a crash with entrapment.

    Upon arrival, crews found the driver trapped in their vehicle with moderate injuries, along with a small canine.

    LIFE STAR HEMS was requested to the scene but was denied due to weather. The patient was instead transported to a nearby hospital.

    The canine was picked up safe by the Windham Animal Control Officer, according to fire officials.
