Garrison Drive near Windsor to close for bridge work

Beginning June 25, Virginia Department of Transportation crews will close a portion of Garrison Drive, also known as Route 646, to replace the bridge over Burnt Mills Swamp near Windsor.

The road will be closed from its intersection with Tar Road, also known as Route 645, to Cut Thru Road, also known as Route 638, with signed detours in place.

Northbound motorists on Cut Thru Road will detour by continuing straight on Cut Thru and merging left onto Clydesdale Drive, then turning left onto Courthouse Highway, also Route 258, and turning left again onto Tar Road. Motorists traveling south from Garrison will follow the same detour in reverse.

Access to private property on Route 646 will be maintained at all times.

The work is expected to be complete this fall.
