The town of Windsor is continuing the revitalization of its annual Fourth of July Celebration in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2024 iteration of the event will feature multiple music acts and a cruise-in.

Held in the Wesley F. Garris Event Park at 18 Duke Street, the town’s 32nd annual Fourth of July Celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, with opening remarks.

Windsor Mayor George Stubbs said, “(We’re) looking forward to a large turnout for the Fourth of July event at Wesley Garris Park. The Event Committee has worked diligently to bring this event together. We hope everyone will come out and join us.”

Luke Willette will perform from 4-5 p.m., and the Greg Willis Cruise-In will begin near the park at 5 p.m.

The Janitors are set to perform from 6-9 p.m.

The Fourth of July Celebration will feature vendors, food trucks and a kid zone.

A fireworks display was originally planned as part of the celebration. However, the town of Windsor posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday evening, July 2, that due to circumstances beyond the town ’ s control, the vendor will not be able to perform the fireworks show.

“However, all other activities will take place as planned,” town officials stated in the post.
