Baseball 7/17/2024 8:48:00 AM Tom Riordan WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW baseball alum Jacob Shafer became UNCW's third player to be selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in round 17 on Tuesday. Shafer joins Luke Craig and RJ Sales, who were selected in the seventh and 10th rounds of the draft. In his final season with the Seahawks, Shafer made a career-high-tying 16 starts and finished with a 4-6 record. He finished his tenure at UNCW with a 12-12 record. Incentive package of $13M lures Nipro headquarters to North Carolina
(The Center Square) – Nipro, manufacturer of medical surgical and renal products, has been lured to North Carolina by an incentive package of more than $13 million. The 70-year-old Japanese company secured a $2.48 million grant from the state toward a $397 million manufacturing center and American headquarters. NCDHHS announces $11M investment in family-based behavioral health services for children with complex needs
RALEIGH — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services today announced an $11 million investment in treatment services designed to keep children who have complex behavioral health needs in homes and communities, and out of inappropriate boarding. The department is partnering with Rapid Resources for Families to expand access to family-based therapeutic programs, enabling children to receive trauma-informed treatment in a home-based setting.

NCWRC announces totals for 2024 wild turkey harvest
