Coroner identifies woman killed in Rockford hit-and-run collision
The Winnebago County Coroner's office has identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run collision early Monday as 66-year-old Hoa Huynh of Rockford. Rockford Police Department officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to the 4900 block of East State Street. Officers found Huynh lying in the street. Coroner’s staff pronounced her dead at the scene. An autopsy concluded she died due to blunt trauma of the head and chest from being struck by a motor vehicle. The Rockford Police Department and the coroner’s office are still investigating the collision.
