    High School Highlights: New Trier gymnasts nab regional title; Local girls wrestlers move on the sectional round

    BOYS BASKETBALL
    Loyola 66, Immaculate Conception 46

    Miles Boland dropped 24 points to go with 6 assists and 2 steals for the victorious Ramblers on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

    Andrew Hollerich added 12 points and Brendan Loftus 10 rebounds for Loyola (22-5).

    Lake Forest Academy 35, Highland Park 31

    The Giants fell to the local foe on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

    New Trier 58, North Chicago 30

    The Trevians picked up a nonconference win on Monday, Jan. 29, in Winnetka.

    Loyola 56, Montini 27

    Miles Boland went for 15 points and 7 assists while Brendan Loftus added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the Ramblers on Monday, Jan. 29.

    Highland Park 54, Buffalo Grove 43

    The Giants earned a nonconference victory on Saturday, Jan. 27.

    New Trier 62, Glenbrook South 48

    The Trevians collected a big Central Suburban South victory on Friday, Jan. 26, in Glenview.

    St. Patrick’s 69, Loyola 66 (OT)

    David Patton had 18 points and Miles Boland 12 in the Ramblers’ loss on Friday, Jan. 26.

    GIRLS BASKETBALL
    Loyola 61, St. Ignatius
    32

    The Ramblers (30-0) took down the Wolfpack on Thursday, Feb. 1, to advance to the championship game in the GCAC tournament.

    Loyola 60, Fenwick 30

    The Ramblers opened the GCAC tournament with a victory on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

    Lake Forest Academy 50, Regina 46

    Olivia Fraterrigo was 7 of 7 from the field and recorded 17 points for the Panthers on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

    Jillian DeFranza added 12 points and Payton Olszewski 9 for Regina (18-8).

    Highland Park 43, Grant 41

    Maddie Reitmayer scored 16 points and Julia Leshtz 15 in the Giants’ nonconference victory on Monday, Jan. 29.

    Lake Zurich 64, New Trier 61 (OT)

    KJ Saccaro scored 23 points and dished out 13 assists as the Trevians came up just short on Saturday, Jan. 27.

    Erin Floyd added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Sela Klein dropped 12 points for New Trier.

    Highland Park 33, Regina 25

    McKenzie Reitmayer scored 12 points to lead the Giants to a nonconference win on Saturday, Jan. 27.

    Olivia Fraterrigo led the Panthers with 8 points.

    Glenbrook South 32, New Trier 30

    The Trevians dropped a conference heartbreaker in the final seconds on Friday, Jan. 26.

    GIRLS WRESTLING
    Round Lake Regional

    Jillian Giller (140 pounds) won her bracket for New Trier on Saturday, Jan. 27, and punched her ticket to the sectional round.

    Nina Aceves (155, 3rd), Zoe Lee (115, 3rd) Sundus Aitzemkour (100, 4th) and Katelynn Parsawasdi (125, 5th) will also wrestle at the sectional for the Trevians.

    Harlee Hiller, of Loyola Academy, won the 115-pound division and is attempting to win a second straight state championship.

    Clara Ugaz (135), of Highland Park, placed third in her bracket to advance.

    GIRLS GYMNASTICS
    New Trier Regional

    Clara Crossgrove scored a 9.5 on the uneven bars to claim the regional championship and help lead New Trier to the team title on Thursday, Feb. 1, in Winnetka.

    Crossgrove (36.1) an Sammy Mills (35.275) placed second and third, respectively, in all-around scoring, as the Trevs (138.9) finished ahead of Glenbrook South (135.3).

    Maddyn Cohen, of Highland Park, placed sixth in the vault and floor to lead the Giants. Cohen and Amelie Gerber, also of HPHS, finished 8-9 in the all-around as the Giants placed fourth.

    BOYS SWIM AND DIVE
    New Trier 126, Glenbrook South 59

    Clay Perry won the 100-yard freestyle and was part of the winning 400 free relay team in the Trevians’ win on senior night Friday, Jan. 26, in Winnetka.

    Willhelm Chaplin earned a win the 50 free and Aiden Musick the 200 free and 100 butterfly for New Trier.
