SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A Shreveport business is doing its part to help families in need of school uniforms before the school year begins. According to a media release, ASAP Copy is hosting a uniform giveaway on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at 3711 Lakeshore Drive. For the last four years, ASAP Copy has hosted this event to assist families in need.
Ruston man charged with domestic abuse
A Ruston man was arrested last Saturday morning after he allegedly beat and strangled his girlfriend. Ruston Police officers responded to a Center Street apartment where a woman told them her boyfriend, Brandon Stripling, 30, had demanded access to her cell phone. She would not give it to Stripling, who took it from her hands.
Former GSU player killed in Ruston crash
Jazmin “Paso” Boyd, a former star Grambling State University basketball player, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Ruston Friday night. The crash occurred on West Alabama Avenue at Goyne Street near Park Ridge Estates. Preliminary reports indicate Boyd’s vehicle hit a utility pole. Further details were not available over the weekend.
