Multi-vehicle crashes injured four Sunday in SE Minnesota
KIMT-TV 3 NEWS – Several multi-vehicle accidents Sunday in southeast Minnesota injured a total of four people. The first happened around 3:59 pm on Interstate 35 in Rice County. The Minnesota State Patrol says a pickup pulling a camper, two SUVs, and a car were all southbound in a two-lane construction zone near mile marker 55 when they crashed.
Lewiston man points gun at neighbor, threatens to kill his family
(KWNO)-A Lewiston man threatened to kill a neighbor following an argument. According to a Winona County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, on Tuesday evening 69-year-old Michael Martinson pointed a gun at his next-door neighbor and said, “I’ll kill you, your daughter and your wife.” The spokesperson said Martinson was mad because the neighbor mowed the lawn and blew the grass clippings onto Martinson’s driveway. The victim’s wife and daughter were not home at the time of the incident. Deputies arrested Martinson for threats of violence and assault.
Riverfest, campers impacted by high water as Mississippi River rises in La Crosse and Winona
The Mississippi River has reached 14 feet at La Crosse and is expected to stay there a while. According to the National Weather Service, the river level will hardly budge from its current level until at least the middle of next week. Recent heavy rains in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin pushed the river past moderate flood stage (13 feet) June 25. The river is expected to crest July 2 at 14.2 feet and still be at 14.1 feet July 4.
Motorcycle crash Sunday in Winona County injured rider from Mankato
WINONA COUNTY, Minn. – A rider was taken to the hospital Sunday after a motorcycle crash in southeast Minnesota. The State Patrol says Jon Dorien Brown, 51 of Mankato, was riding a 2007 Honda west on Highway 14 when he lost control and crash near mile marker 254 in Winona County.
